Advanced Clinical Educator Training: The College of Education, Leadership Studies, and Counseling (CELC)(CELCS24Advanced) The College of Education, Leadership Studies, and Counseling (CELC) at the University of Lynchburg welcomes you to Advanced Clinical Educator (ACE) Training through Mentoring Virginia. We are excited that you have decided to collaborate with us to support our teacher candidates in student teaching placements. This second course offered through the University is synchronous to allow collaborative discussions while exploring advanced mentoring language and philosophies, student teacher assessment training, resources for mentors and expectations of clinical educators and university supervisors during the student teaching semester. Prior to the synchronous meeting, clinical educators are requested to complete pre-work that includes two videos, reviewing the student teaching assessment and corresponding rubric, and completing a short assignment that should take approximately an hour to complete. The synchronous meeting will last approximately 1.5 - 2 hours. Meeting links and dates will be sent to participants by the instructor. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate from the University, and you will be added to the pool of clinical educators who can host student teachers. This course is not open to the public and is available by invitation and registration only. Once you complete the enrollment process, your eligiblity will be verified and we will contact you with next steps.
